Editorial Policy
We write short, sourced pages that answer one question and give you a tool to use right away. Every health page is checked by someone other than the writer, and we fix mistakes in the open.
How we write
An editor drafts each page from sources we list at the bottom of it. The direct answer comes first, then the tool (a breathing trainer, a timer, a grounding walk-through or a questionnaire), then the explanation. We say what the evidence shows and where it is thin. Our rules for choosing sources are on the sources page.
Who checks
Each medical topic goes to an editor and then to an independent reviewer who holds a license you can verify. Until a named reviewer exists for a topic, we publish medical claims on that topic only after review. Health-topic pages carry a “Reviewed by” line with the reviewer’s name and the review date.
How we update
Every page shows a published date and an updated date. We review each page at least every 12 months, and sooner when a guideline we cite changes. If a review changes nothing, we still update the “checked” date so you can see it happened.
What we never publish
- Diagnoses. A web page cannot diagnose you.
- Promises that a practice will make a condition go away for good.
- The word “proven” without a source you can open.
- Any claim that a technique replaces treatment or medication.
- Questionnaire texts under restrictive licenses, such as the BDI-II or the HADS.
How we handle questionnaires
The PHQ-9 and GAD-7 are reproduced under the Pfizer notice on phqscreeners.com, which says no permission is required to reproduce, translate, display or distribute them. The WHO-5 is an open World Health Organization instrument (2024 version).
Your result is a screening score. It is not a diagnosis, and the page says so next to the number. If you answer anything above zero on PHQ-9 item 9, the page shows crisis help first, before the score. Your answers stay in your browser. More in our privacy page.
Affiliate links
We currently have none. If we ever add any, they will be labeled on the page where they appear and marked rel=“sponsored”.
Corrections
If you find an error, email editor@quietarium.com with the page address and what you think is wrong. We check it against the source. If you are right, we fix the page, add a short correction note, and show the date of the change on that page. If we think the page is correct, we reply and explain why.
