About Quietarium
Quietarium gives you one thing that works, right on the page, and tells you honestly what the science says about it. A small editorial team makes it, and it is free.
Why the site exists
When you feel bad, you do not want a long article first. So each page opens with the direct answer, then a tool you can use at once: a breathing trainer, a timer, a grounding walk-through or a questionnaire. The explanation and the evidence come after, with sources you can open.
What is on it
- Tools for breathing (4-7-8, box breathing), grounding (5-4-3-2-1), meditation and muscle relaxation.
- Pages on sleep, anxiety and grief.
- Free questionnaires: PHQ-9, GAD-7 and WHO-5. Your answers stay in your browser.
- Numbered sources at the end of each page, and a “Reviewed by” line on health pages once a reviewer has signed off.
Our rules are in the editorial policy and the source policy.
Who makes it
We are a small editorial team. Authors and reviewers are listed on each page. See the editorial policy for how we work.
The free app
We are building a free app for the moment you feel bad right now and want to get back to the present in about a minute. It is coming soon. It has:
- A breathing circle with phone vibration in rhythm (physiological sigh, long-exhale breathing).
- An “I feel bad right now” button with your country’s crisis contacts, which works offline.
- 5-4-3-2-1 grounding with voice.
- “I’m having the thought that…” thought labeling.
- A “smallest step” for days when you do not want anything.
- A 5 to 10 minute body-scan audio.
- Optional reminders, off by default.
- PHQ-9, GAD-7 and WHO-5 with honest results.
- A counter that shows how many times you helped yourself. No streaks.
There is no registration and no cost. To hear when it launches, use the “Tell me when it launches” email field on the site.
How we make money
We do not make money from the site. The site is free and the app is free. We run no ads and have no affiliate links today. If that changes, we will say so on this page and on the page where it appears.
